Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata is located in the northeast of Dominican Republic. It is one of the most important places that my country has because it is a tourist zone that generate a lot of money. Living in Puerto Plata has several advantages.

One of the advantages of living in Puerto Plata is that it has many beautiful beaches. One of the example, is Playa Dorada that is one of the most beautiful beaches in my Country. People enjoy visit this beach for the nice weather ,soft sand ,and the clean environment. In addition, there are many delicious restaurants that you are going to love such as Cabarete ,Mi bohio and Café Cito. Located in downtown Puerto Plata, these roof-top restaurants and bars serve wonderful combination of Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisine

Another advantage is that Puerto Plata is a safe place because it is always protected by the Dominican police. As an example, you can walk outside late at night without trouble because there are a lot of surveillance.Also,the crime rate is very low there.

Finally,Puerto Plata is a nice place where people can enjoy their life. I would like to show you more pictures about the some beautiful place that this place has. I hope that every body in this class like Puerto Plata.

Decision that change my life

September 19, 2005 was the day that I took the most important decision in my life. Come to this country changed my life in different ways because I didn’t know anywhere here, and I didn’t speak English.

Come to the U.S. was a decision that changed my life totally because I didn’t know anywhere here. For example, when I wanted to go to the supermarket, I had to wait for my uncle picked me up. I felt very disappear because I didn’t know the streets and Avenues name. Furthermore,I had to spend more than one month to learn more about the name of the streets and Avenues in this country. Also, for me was very difficult to learn a new language. When I came to this Country, I didn’t speak English.

In conclusion, come to the U.S. was the decision that changed my life at all. Even thought it is very difficult to learn a new languages and places in a new country I feel very satisfied to being here I hope final people that to take a decision like mine.

Homeschooling

Homeschooling has several disadvantages which would allow public school be a better choice for education.

1. Children who are learning at home have less challenges or competition than those who attend public schools.

When children attend schools, they like to compete or challenges with their friends to get the higher grades in the class.

They are less motivated

2. Boring for children

They have to spend all day in their home with their parents

The environment

3. Homeschooling would help to limited social interaction with peers.

Not being able to associate and congregate with other kids

They are isolated

My essay is going to be against homeschooling because I think that is not beneficial for students for three main reasons.Homeschooling lack of motivation , it is boring and also limited social interaction with peers.

My best friend

My best friend is Stefany Martinez. She is from Dominican Republic, she is 19 years old. Stefany is my best friend, because she is very kind and always listens to me when I have a problem and gives me advice on how to solve them.

One of the compliments why I consider Stefany my best friend is her kindness. She is the kind of person that likes to help everybody without waiting for something in return. For example every time when she goes to Dominican Republic, she buys a lot of clothes and gives them to the poor people. Also being a loyal friend is another quality she has. Stefany is also a very outgoing person and likes to interact with everybody.

Stefany is a very nice person who has always listens to me whenever I need her. Some of the things we enjoy doing together are like going to the mall, listening to music, and going to the movie theaters. I love Stefany a lot and hope our friendship last forever.

My favorite music is merengue

Merengue is a very popular music in my Country. I like merengue, because it has a lot of rhythm, and for me is very easy to dance and also it has some type of magic that makes people a lot happier when we hear the sound.

Like I said merengue is very easy to dance, the most important thing is know how to move your hips, and follow the rhythm. Furthermore, people like merengue, because it has a variety of sounds and ways of dancing. For example we have slow merengue and fast merengue and also you can do turns with your partner. Also dancing merengue makes people happy, because you can feel the rhythm in your body and you feel exited with the sound and makes you want to dance. It also helps to forget a little bit about any problem, because it is all about happy sounds.

I will like to recommend all of you who never heard merengue, or don’t know how to dance it to try it out, because it is fun and I know you will all enjoy it. In my case everyday whenever I have free time I listen to merengue, because it’s also very entertaining. If you want to learn how to dance merengue I think all you have to do is learn how to move your hips and just follow the rhythm.

Should Towns Have Teen Curfew Law

Nowadays, many towns in N.J. have declared a new curfew law for teenagers under 18. These curfew laws prohibit minors from being out in any public place or establishment after 11:p.m. If any minors are seen at any sidewalk even in front of their home, the penalty would be $500. Many teenagers think that this unfair or unconstitutional. However, this curfew would help parents to keep their teens off the streets at unreasonable hours. There are several reasons why towns should have curfew laws on teenagers.

One reason why towns should have a curfew law for teenagers is because it will help teenagers to be safe. If teenagers get home before 11:p.m, they would have less risk to be in danger. For example, three months ago I heard in the news that a Hispanic teenager was beaten by two black men only for discrimination. Most of the violent attacks occur during the nighttime. Therefore, with this curfew teens would be safe at nighttime.

Another reason is that this curfew would help parents to have more control over their children during the nighttime. Nowadays, most of the teenagers like to hangout with their friends or go to the movies during the nighttime and they usually arrive home too late. In addition, most of the teenagers don’t like to tell their parents where they are going. Therefore, parents feel worried about their children because they don’t know if they are where they are at, and whether they are well or not.

The last reason why towns should have curfew laws is because they would help to reduce juvenile crimes and vandalism. For example, the majority of gang members is teenagers who most of the time are involved in fighting with opposite gangs and sometimes even killed each others.Furthermore, they take advantages of these hours in order to commit vandalism by breaking in private properties and damaging them.

Opponents of curfew laws claim that this curfew is unfair for teenagers because they are giving to them unequal treatment by restricting their movement. They have a point thinking like that. However, According to Rudolf .M.Rossmy, who is the chief of Vermont police reported, that juvenile crimes have decreased 53% since the curfew was implemented. These curfew laws would help teens to be safe at nighttime.

In conclusion, there are several reasons why curfew laws are a good idea. Curfew laws would help to parents to have more control over their children during the night and also would help to reduce the juvenile crimes.

Punta Cana

Have you ever visited Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic? It is a beautiful place that you would love. It is located on the East Coast of the D.R. This place is the largest growing tourist destination in the Caribbean. There are many reasons why Punta Cana is considered as one of the better places all over the world.

First, Punta Cana is about beach and relaxing. As you can see in the picture the beach is amazing. The san is white and the water is a turquoise green. I would recommend you to visit the hotels and resorts that are around of the marvelous beaches. There are more than 40 hotels with more than 26,000 hotel rooms are spread across 40 k.m of the East Coast beaches. Moreover, there are many entertainment sport activities that you can play with your family such as volley ball, boat tours, paragliding and sailing trips. Most of the beaches offer guided instructions and classes for diving and other water sports ranging from beginner courses for children and advanced training for professionals. Furthermore, The weather is beautiful and the waters are warm and clean .

Finally, I would recommend all of you who never went to the D.R. to visit this glorious place. Punta Cana has everything to have fun vacation with your family. It has beautiful beaches and wonderful resorts. It has the most consistent weather of any beach destination in the Caribbean, it hardly ever rains. I hope that everybody enjoy a wonderful vacation with their family in this paradises place.I miss a lot my Country.

Hello every body

Today I would like to talk a little bit about my self. My name is Ydiani Yamelin Peralta. I was born in the Dominican Republic. I have been living in the U.S. for two years. The most important thing in my life is my family ,and I can not imagine my life without them. My mother’s name is Elizabeth and my father ‘s name is Ignacio. I have two sisters and one brother. My older sister’s name is Yazmin,my middle sister’s name is Dahiana, and my brother’s name is Jose. One of the most funniest thing that always happens to my sisters and me is that every time when we go out, people ask us if we are triplets.Yazmin sometimes gets mad because she says that we don’t look alike.As for me, I like it because I think that we really look alike.

I love animals, and my favorite ones are dogs and cats. I like them because they are very smart and friendly. I have a beautiful cat whose name is Fuco. He is an adorable cat and also he is a special part of my family. My sister and me , we take good care of him. We used to give him a shower, dress him up , put on perfume and make up. But now since he is getting older we decided to leave him alone.In my leisure time I enjoy listening to music and watching TV. Furthermore, the food that I mostly like is “the Dominican flag” which is rice with beans and beef. My favorite singer is Aventura.I like all of their songs , and I am planning to go to their concert this summer .

I have been studying in PCCC for two years. My major is a kindergarten teacher because I love children. Children inspire tenderness in me by the innocent way that they act and behave. I work in a beauty supply shop , where we sell hair products for women. I like my job because it is easy and helps me to improve my English .
